When i first moved to Australia.. I found it weird that every “hello” is followed by “how are you?”. It’s as if there is no such thing as just a “hello!” in oz.. only “hellohowareya?” … there is nothing wrong with it, except it means everyone u meet ask you how are u going, including the stranger who sit next to u in waiting room, the supermarket check out person, or the window cleaner in your office.
And 9 out of 10 don’t expect an answer .. or u end up with an automatic reply “good thanks.. yourself?” Let’s be honest.. how many of us really mean what we said? Or say what we mean?
How many of us are ready for a lengthy detailed answers to our “how are you?”
And how many of us really ready to be vulnerable and honest with other people.
I am not saying we should start baring our souls to everyone. But i def think the world would be a better place if we put more efforts in showing and caring how people are travelling… and to allow ourselves to be vulnerable infront of our friends and loved ones.
